Of Thy Great Love

By baldbrian  //  Poetry  //  No Comments

The poem doest tell
of thy great love
of he in whom she’s thinking of!

A tale so true
a mystery
abundant love for all to see!

From start to end
emotions flow
like no-one knows, like no-one knows!

She gets it right
so right I say
love lives, love breaths, love’s here to stay!

Come sway with me
till death do part
from toe to brow, from heart to heart!

So say it now
and have no fear
forever more, let’s disappear!

[The most important things are the hardest things to say]

By baldbrian  //  Wisdom  //  No Comments

I’m currently working on a web site for an old college buddy (Bret Toth) who now runs a counseling center in the area. Buried in the middle of about a dozen pages of stuff he had typed up for me I ran into the following quote from a Stephen King novel. It’s good stuff, and so true – having never read any of his novels it just never dawned on me that he had this type of writing in them.

“The most important things are the hardest things to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them – words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they’re brought out. But it’s more than that, isn’t it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you’ve said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That’s the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller, but for want of an understanding ear.”

Still Believe

By baldbrian  //  Faith, Lyrics, Music  //  No Comments

Verse 1
My God where are you now?
Can it be you’ve given up on me somehow?
I know my prayers you never miss
I just can’t see the end to this

Chorus 1
But I’ve seen your spirit raining down
And I’ve felt your presence all around (me)
And I wept when you first touched me
And I’ve hurt and still believed

Verse 2
My God you feel so far away!
Even though in my heart I know that you will stay
My constant perfect friend
Someday soon I’ll see the end

Chorus 2
But I’ve seen your spirit raining down
And I’ve felt your presence all around (me)
And I wept when you first touched me
And I’ve hurt and still believed

Chorus 3
Yeah I see your spirit raining down
And I feel your presence all around
And I sing this song of praise to thee
‘Cause I was blind and now I see

The Void

By baldbrian  //  Faith, Lyrics  //  No Comments

Verse 1
You rub your eyes and say goodbye
To another night of lust-filled lies
And as you leave you wonder why
That empty feeling’s still inside

Verse 2
Once you get home you try again
As Mary Jane becomes your friend
Inhale her smoke and give a grin
She hides the way you feel within

Chorus 1
The void you feel is always there
In every case and everywhere
Can’t be explained or so they say
But I know there’s another way

Verse 3
Your wife cries out to you again
Your work has taken her place in
Your heart she thinks or so she feels
She leaves again, this time it’s real

Chorus 2
The void you feel is always there
In every case and everywhere
Can’t be explained or so they say
But I know there’s another way

Chorus 3
The way to fill the void inside
Your heart is to let Him reside
So deeply in you cannot hide
The God inside, your God inside

The Daisy Song

Verse 1
There she goes, your heart, your soul.
She told you that she loved you,
But that was over a year ago,
And since then she’s loved many others.
You say you’re holding on to what you know.
You think that you still love her.
She keeps telling you that you’ll just have to let go,
But you won’t think of it because it’s too hard.

Chorus 1
You’re a daisy if you do.
You’re a daisy if you don’t.
You’re a daisy if you will.
You’re a daisy if you won’t.
Well, I know you’re love seemed true,
But it’s only hurting you.
You’re fragile heart is turning blue.
Give it some time, you’ll make it through.

Verse 2
You cried when your mother died.
You wept until the morning
As the family shared memories by the fireside,
You realized just how much you missed her.
You wish you could go back and change those times
When you let down your mother.
But it’s too late now, that thought’s not worth a dime,
You can only change the future. What’ll you do?

Chorus 2
You’re a daisy if you do.
You’re a daisy if you don’t.
You’re a daisy if you will.
You’re a daisy if you won’t.
Well, I know your mom loved you,
And she knew you loved her too.
To her your beauty was in you.
Her in your heart will see you through.

Chorus 3
You’re a daisy if you do.
You’re a daisy if you don’t.
You’re a daisy if you will.
You’re a daisy if you won’t.
In everything you do,
And everything you don’t do,
You’re beautiful, that’s true,
But don’t forget you’re fragile too.
